Haircuts Ordered For Saudi Men Who Hit on Women

Men busted hitting on ladies in Saudi Arabia now face an encounter with the clippers after a governor in the northern region of the Gulf country ordered that authorities snip the hair of flirting men. Prince Fahd bin Badr thought up the hair-raising idea after seeing a group of men with flowing locks flirting with female students. The conservative nation has long enforced a strict set of Islamic customs in which the sexes remain segregated. Beware of buzz-cuts lustful boys!

McBain for America

This November you can waste your vote a candidate with puny girly arms that can’t even benchpress a mini cooper, or you can vote for McBain. He won’t rest until he’s abdominated America’s flabby stomach and killed the man who killed his partner.

Escape the Fantasy

april 21 – 27

The idea is simple: take your TV, your DVD player, your video iPod, your XBOX 360, your laptop, your PSP, and say goodbye to them all for seven days. Simple, but not at all easy. Like millions of others before you, you’ll be shocked at just how difficult – yet also how life-changing – a week spent unplugged can really be.

3 ways to clear your mind

You wake up, put on the coffee, and get ready for work. Then, just as you’re reaching for the cell phone, you remember that today is the beginning of Mental Detox Week.Today you’re not going to listen to your iPod. You aren’t going to stare at a computer screen any more than you absolutely have to. Today you won’t worry about unanswered email, and you’re not going to login to Facebook. You’ll cut the time you spend on digital devices right down to the bone.

In the evening maybe you will watch your favorite TV show for an hour, but after that you switch off, have a conversation, wash the dishes, read for a bit, and just relax. You do that for five days, and then on Friday night you make a decision to unplug completely for the whole weekend.

For a couple of days you might feel like an addict in withdrawal: peevish, agitated, and distracted. But then something will happen. Your over-stimulated brain will cleanse itself. You’ll relax. You’ll feel calmer, more grounded.

Patience, your laugh will hurt you.

Austrian weekend

This weekend I went to Austria, to the beautiful region of Salzburg, to find some inspiration as well as have a taste of what Austrians are all about. Have in mind that I was much more interested in their Apfelstrudel than in Mozart or classical music.

Got there after a prolongued shopping break at the Parndorf outlet stores as well as Wien’s SCS. We decided to stay at Hotel Sallerhof which is run by Barbara and Klaus Schnoell-Reichl. The hotel is situated very close to the city of Salzburg, in the village of Groedig. I must say that I was impressed by the pleasant ambiance before getting there, as they have built a great website for their hotel, with plenty of useful information both about the Sallerhof as well as its surroundings.

I had some problems finding the place at first, because I looked it up as a point of interest in my navigation and it was set with the wrong address, so all you iGo users beware. The safest way to find it is by looking for the address they provide, or follow the instructions from the website.

Klaus was very helpful and provided abundant information about, well, anything we could pop up questions for. The hotel interior is immaculate from the reception up to the rooms. After a long shower and a great dinner I went straight to bed. Woke up thinking about that home cooked pastries the Sallerhof had to offer for breakfast. They fully met my expectations, simply delicious!

The following day I had the chance to visit Salzburg, one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. For a great view I recommend you go visit Hohensalzburg, the 900-year-old fortress, the city’s chief landmark, which is the biggest and most fully-preserved fortification in Europe.

On Saturdays you can visit the local farmers market in Salzburg for some delicious Austrian treats as well as souvenirs. They have great selling skills by the way they display their merchandise. Of course I had to buy chocolate :-)

I could be writing more about this weekend but my time ( as well as yours) is short so the best advice I can give to you is: GO! It will totally be worth the trip.
